Trust me on this one.  You don't have to knock yourself out to knock one out of the ballpark! Here's what I've learned to make a really great sports theme party come together:

1. Save the hassle and expense of renting popcorn/cotton candy machines.  Bag popcorn in advance and buy cotton candy in bags.  I always buy small cotton candy to help keep the sugar in check.

2. Splurge on a snow-cone machine - it's easy to shave the ice and set up the self-serve station.

3. Personalize in advance printing labels for water bottles or stenciling inexpensive green turf that you can cut for a round table or use on rectangle tables.  You can even use this on the floor as a entry way.

4. Put out large lawn games like corn hole, frisbee can jam and if you have space you rent a sports theme bounce house!

5. Buy inexpensive footballs with permanent markers that everyone can autograph.  They will double as both table decor and party favors!

Dear Friends,

It's really cold in Rochester right now and I suppose I should be adding tips and tricks for a Winter Wonderland or Ice Princess Party but instead I thought I would share my plans to recreate the enchanted table scape pictured below this Spring.  It works for Easter, Spring, Kids and yes even my adult daughter enjoyed the fairy garden themed table!  -Nancy

1. Tie ribbons to bubble wands for a quick and easy party favor.
2. Use elastic to attach fairy wings and tutus to chairs
3. Mix in inexpensive paper plates in your favorite color with one set of the fairy themed ware.
4. Tie 11" balloons in sets of two, then twist together at the knots to create giant flowers (see photo above).
5.  Craft Table - set out inexpensive fairy houses with glue dots, flowers, gems and greenery.  ‚Äč

Create a magical world of butterflies, tutus, wands and fairy houses for your next party!  The decor doubles as giveaways and party favors.

Dear Friends,

We've turned the page into 2021 and I am so hopeful that we will be post-covid soon and hoping that DJ Brian will be able to go back to Trivia Nights and All Request DJ events.  I'm sharing this year from my portfolio of theme parties over the last three decades.  I had to start with the 80s since that's where it all began as "Sparky the Clown" in Charlottesville, VA (and later as 'The Balloon Lady" in Rochester, NY) with many places in between.  How much fun I have had helping make parties a little more special with decorating touches or as strolling entertainment.  I hope you find some inspiration on this page.  Warm regards, Nancy

Easy DIY giant Rubiks cubes!

I used a medium moving box, black duct tape and construction paper to make these great props.  You can leave them on the floor, on a table or do what I did and push it through a pole and base.  The pac man ghosts were made with more construction paper and large google eyes.

1. Add a 80s theme photo selfie station

2. Rubiks cube party favors

3. Play 80s themed background music

4. Glow party favors
